Ask Slashdot:LCD Projectors

Well I'm going to just sorta post this one myself. Basically, Dextius Alphaeus wrote in to ask about big screens. Like projection screens. He's been looking at the Sony CPJ-D500 LCD Data Projector specifically, which at $1700 ain't too bad, but still isn't cheap. In a nutshell, he wants to know about projectors, pros and cons, and good/bad words about specific models, preferably the less expensive ones. Anyone able to help? I'm curious too, I'd love to add a projector to my living room (right after I win the lottery).
