IR Wireless Networks for Laptops?

zonem writes in with this nifty question: " Is there any device that connects to an RJ45 10baseT network line and transmits the data through an infrared port? is there also software for linux that allows a laptop to receive this signal through the laptop's infrared port and send it through eth0? The reason is, i want to use my laptop around the house, and if I have a cable modem using 10baseT, I'd be able to, with this device, use the laptop in any room and connect to the internet or a local network... i'd use dhcp/tcpip... any information? ideas? links?"
