Bruno Widmann writes "Ok, i'd love to have my linux-box running all of the time, but since I sleep in the same room the noise is driving me nuts at night.... I would like to have some advice on making it "noise free" (where "free" has the meaning of /dev/null ... same noiselevel as the average notebook). Are there any Readers who have allready done this and might give me some advice? Most annoying noice-generators in my box: *powersupply that fan gets on my nerves. I would love a powersupply with no fan at all :) *harddisk- this can be set to auto power off with apm somehow? Of course i mean scsi-harddisk. *processor-fan: i would like to get rid of that also... to bad i have a amd-k6-166 which generates a shitload of heat... i would need a really big heatsink, or some low-power cpu... Of course i've tried without fan allready, but it get's way too hot, even at 133 Mhz. "
