ISDN Problems w/ SuSE v6.1 8
ulissesr
asks: "Hi there! I just bought SuSE Linux v6.1
featuring linux 2.2.7 and had no problems installing it.
My problem is my ISDN adapator, which is a pcbit-d by Octal!
I just haven't found a way to get it to work with the new
kernel or could it be the new ipppd verion? Can some
good soul point me to a dial-up script for ipppd with
PAP authentication?"

Reason: ISDN is very popular in Europe and _especially_ in Germany, where SuSEs home market is.
Just wanted to mention this explanation to not let anyone think I'm biased (more than usual).

Some scripts, I pulled mine from http://sites.inka.de/picard/rh52_isdn.tgz [sites.inka.de]
Untar the ISDN-kernel drivers, run the std2kern-script included to put them into your kernel directory; then recompile your kernel.
Untar the ISDN-utils, run make menuconfig and make install when you are satisfied
Last, check if the RedHat scripts like your Debian scripts, if so, use them, else you can use those scripts as a starting point for your work.
Should be enough to keep you busy this weekend, success!
